Focus Rooms Face-to-Face Event Highlights from October

The Hospitality Bug Bit in October

We are so excited and proud to say that October was a massive month for Focus Rooms!

Our love for the hospitality industry has blossomed again after its pandemic hiatus. With the re-emergence of face-to-face events, our fantastic, fun-loving team got to work their magic to the fullest. Here are some of our highlights over the last few weeks.

Big Industries Came Out to Play

Leading players in the banking, mining and motor industries let their hair down with Focus Rooms this month.

We hosted a memorable, safe and COVID compliant year-end celebration for over 250 guests in the security industry. Our team got stuck in, and it was great to have our venue bustling again. The company guests enjoyed our world-class dining experience, complete with an extravagant lighting display.

One of South Africa’s leading comics stood as MC. Our bespoke shooter bar ensured that guests got the party into full swing. The festivities were contagious, and this event has re-ignited the passion at Focus Rooms.

Face to Face with the Bigger Issues

The past month saw our team interacting with organisations doing great things for our country. We held church celebrations for 250 congregation members bringing the spirit into the venue. Focus Rooms also hosted an organisation passionately working with drug and alcohol abuse.

We hosted the Fertility Exhibition Show in our virtual studio. Unfortunately, a face-to-face event was not on the cards this year, but 2022 promises big things for this event.

It was a privilege to host such devoted members of our community. A great reminder that though there may be a pandemic, you cannot keep good things or good people down. It has been an honour for our team to meet the people working for the greater good of others. Thank you to all these inspirational people for choosing to work with us and motivating us to reach for even greater things.

A Governmental View

Our top highlight for October was hosting President Cyril Ramaphosa. The President joined us, speaking to the inspiring Women’s Economic Assembly on empowering women in our economy.

The Social Development Department also visited us. Their event centred on South African youth and their future role in our government. Their Introducing Youth in Parliament conference focused on the importance of educating our future leaders in parliamentary matters.

Gatherings like this prove that the events industry and South Africa are looking at a bright future.

Educating Young and Old

We have been fortunate throughout the year to host various exams for online schools and international certifications. Our confidence in the education sector is rejuvenating as we now see face-to-face training companies re-surfacing.

Blended learning is a great compromise, but you cannot beat face-to-face interaction. Hosting various training sessions in October showed us the joy colleagues and facilitators feel seeing others in person. The fun had in others’ company clearly made up for naptime lost on Zoom meetings.

Face-To-Face is on the Up-And-Up

If October is anything to go by, face-to-face events are getting bigger, better, and more frequent.

Year-end events are lined-up and silly season is well on its way. So, put your best face forward and your dancing shoes on and get ready for some magic.

Focus Rooms is ready and rearing to go, are you?
